Race Equality Advisory Group (REAG)
The purpose of the Race Equality Advisory Group is to gather people with a range of lived experience with reference to racial heritage and culture to advise the Race Equality Steering Group (RESG).
The REAG will bring expertise and stories of lived experience to inform this journey towards race equality. It will enable understanding and help the Diocese (and the RE Steering Group in particular) to see through the eyes of people of UKME/GMH. The REAG will scrutinize the activity of the RESG and contribute creatively to the development of our strategy for race equality. The REAG will also critique and challenge the work of the RESG to better facilitate the culture of race equality throughout the Diocese.
Members of the REAG participated in the Racial Justice Sunday Service in February 2022 at Coventry Cathedral offering readings, prayers and Communion was presided by Reverend Canon Dr Rosalyn Murphy who is a member of the REAG. The REAG is looking for additional team members from the UKME/GMH for an initial conversation please Neil Masih.
