Welcome to the Diocese of Coventry safeguarding page.

We are committed to ensuring that the Diocese of Coventry provides a safe environment for everyone, especially those most vulnerable in our parishes. 

Our diocesan safeguarding team are an experienced professional team with backgrounds in education, police, probation and social care. The team provides advice, guidance training and support to the cathedral and parishes across the diocese. We also partner with parish safeguarding officers across the diocese to continue in our commitment to develop our safeguarding culture.

Our safeguarding practice is underpinned by House of Bishops safeguarding code of practice and guidance. Find out more here.

It is underpinned by the Church of England National Safeguarding Standards.

Past Cases Review 2

Past Cases Review 2 (PCR2) was commissioned by the House of Bishops to see how safeguarding cases have been dealt with, thus helping churches and church-related activities to be safer for everyone.  An independent review of cases in the Diocese of Coventry was completed in December 2021.
