St Andrew’s Church, Eastern Green and St Andrew’s Infant School are both celebrating an important milestone this year. They are 150 years old!
As part of a year of activities, they have an exciting exhibition in the church and school. The exhibition opens on Friday 11th July at 1.30pm through to Sunday 13th July.
The exhibition is called "Following in their footsteps and making new footsteps to follow.” It is a reminder that throughout the 150 years, everyone who has entered the church and school have left their footprints for others to follow.
There will be timeline around the church for people to leave a footprint on, marking when they first set foot in the church. It might have been 60 years ago or at that very moment when visit the exhibition; all attending the exhibition will leave a footprint on the day. Who will follow these footprints in the future?
The Revd Jo Joyce, vicar of St Andrew's says:
"it will be an amazing opportunity for the residents of Eastern Green, Allesley Green and Pickford Green, to join us to celebrate the important role the church and school have played within the community. As we look back at the history, we will also look to the future, and how the church might respond to the needs of our community going forward."
