Worshipping God, making new disciples, transforming communities

Welcome from Bishop Christopher

I'm delighted to welcome you to the website of the Diocese of Coventry. We live in the centre of England and we want to be at the centre of God's purposes for this part of the world. You'll see that there's lots on in the churches and communities of our Diocese, with something good going on near the doorstep of most homes in Coventry and Warwickshire.  Do join us!

Archbishop of Canterbury's Visit - 25 to 27 May

Archbishop Rowan will be spending a whole weeked in Coventry Diocese at the end of May.  A very full programme of events has been planned, with the aim of giving him a good understanding of the joys and challenges that we face throughout the diocese.

The Big Jubilee Thank You

'The Big Jubilee Thank You' gives people an opportunity to send a special thank you message to Her Majesty the Queen. Messages are being collected throughout the country. They will be compiled into a single letter which will then be delivered to Buckingham Palace. This is a Church of England initiative that has the support of Bishop Christopher.

The Coventry Pilgrimage

Hundreds of pilgrims took to the footpaths of Coventry and Warwickshire last week.  Fifty years ago every parish in our Diocese took part in a pilgrimage of the Cross of Nails. This was the inspiration for the 2012 pilgrimage, a journey with a spiritual purpose.

Bishop Christopher said, "The sense of walking in the footsteps of Jesus, together with his people, has been very profound.  The earliest name for Christians was 'the people of the Way'; and what I've learnt is that to walk the 'Christian Way' you need people with you.  It has been great to walk and talk with others along the Way."
