Archdeacon of Coventry

The recruitment process for the substantive Archdeacon of Coventry is currently underway. Until an appointment is made, The Revd Canon Richard Hibbert has been appointed as Acting Archdeacon of Coventry and will serve in the role on a part-time basis alongside his ministry as Vicar of Holy Trinity, Coventry.

Richard will provide leadership and support during this period of transition while the recruitment process for the substantive Archdeacon of Coventry is underway.

About the role

The Archdeacon of Coventry works closely with clergy, lay leaders and parishes across the Archdeaconry, supporting the mission and ministry of the Church throughout the diocese. The role forms part of the diocesan senior staff team and helps provide strategic leadership, pastoral support and oversight for local churches and communities.

As Acting Archdeacon, Richard will work alongside Archdeacon Tim Cockell and colleagues across the Diocese of Coventry to support parishes, clergy and lay leaders as they continue to share the reconciling love of Christ in their communities.

Richard will continue to serve as Vicar of Holy Trinity, Coventry while undertaking these additional responsibilities.
