The Building Management Portal
Applying for permission to make changes to your church building is now quicker and easier – thanks to the launch of a new portal.
The new Building Management Portal was developed by The Church of England to replace the national Online Faculty System. Our diocese is one of four dioceses trialing the portal before its general release to all dioceses later this year. Being part of the first stage of transition to the new system means that we will get additional support in making the change.
The Building Management Portal is web-based and designed to provide an electronic system for making and tracking applications right through from seeking initial advice from the DAC to receiving the Faculty from the Chancellor. You are able to fill in online versions of the application forms and Statement of Need, populate your Statement of Significance, and upload any supporting documents.
All ongoing and historic cases have been transferred into the Building Management Portal without the need for resubmission. The new system is intended to make it easier to navigate the process and have other improvements such as autosaving information entered and easier uploading of documents. Users are able to give feedback directly to the developers.
