A whole-diocese approach

‘All this is from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.’
2 Corinthians 5:18, NRSV

Our purpose

The purpose of the Diocese of Coventry hasn't changed; we exist to:

  • Worship God
  • Make new disciples
  • Transform communities

Our vision

Over the next five years, we want to be bearers of life and we hope to see:

  • Restored health
  • New growth
  • Renewed relationships

Partners together

In order to fulfil our purpose - and realise our vision - we want to continue developing a whole-diocese approach.

This includes our church communities, our schools, our chaplaincies and our cathedral, who together gather around our bishop to share in the apostolic ministry and mission given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ.

As Bishop Christopher said at the 100th anniversary celebration of the Diocese of Coventry:

"I want to say to everybody - in all of the parishes, in all of the schools, anyone touched by the chaplaincy work of the diocese, anyone who loves this cathedral - you have a part to play in this great work of God which we are invited to step into.

So, here we are, embarking on another hundred years.  It's a renewed call to us - to work together - to worship God, to make new disciples and to transform communities."

We are partners together in the message and ministry of reconciliation.
