Deanery Voices - Social Responsibility Report

In 2009 I set myself the task of engaging with all the deaneries in the Diocese of Coventry to find out what members thought were the
key social issues to be addressed. The 11 deaneries bring together significant numbers of clergy and lay people who collectively are able
to voice the concerns of the 198 parishes (248 churches) which comprise the Diocese of Coventry.  It was an outward rather than inward looking exercise, society facing rather than church facing. This listening approach was tackled in as objective way as far as possible using open questions and a standardised process for getting information. Care Where it's needed - Social Responsibility Report

2009 sees the publication of our Social Responsibility Report 'Care Where it's needed' which focus on sector ministry in Coventry and Warwickshire means caring for those in particular situations – the patients and staff in hospitals and hospices; the prisoners and staff in custodial institutions of which there are three in our diocese; the employer, employee and those encountering the effect of the credit crunch and recession at first hand; those in rural life; and, those many thousands who are pupils, students or staff in schools, colleges and universities.  If you would like to download a copy of this document, please click here

Who Cares? - Social Responsibility Report

Who Cares?' gives a snapshot of the Social Responsibility work currently being undertaken in the Diocese of Coventry. Taken together, these caring initiatives across Coventry and Warwickshire and in the wider West Midlands Region make a significant contribution to community well-being. The transformation of communities is a key element in our diocesan strategy and parish life and we can rejoice in the efforts being made by so many to this end.  I commend this report to you and ask that you encourage others to read this document, please click here
