For Women – A Time to Relax – Lunchtime Meditations
Due to popular demand the Ladies Lunchtime Meditations at Coventry Cathedral are now taking place monthly on the first Thursday of each month from 12.45-2.00pm in the Lecture Hall. The next one is on 2nd September 2010.   Do bring your friends (and your lunch!) and enjoy a cup of tea with others, then an hour of guided peace and relaxation with God. Free, friendly and informal, this is ideal for all women, whatever age or background. For more information contact Zoe Bell on 024 7652 1223
 
St Leonard’s Church, Ryton on Dunsmore
Our voluntary organist is eager to retire so we are looking for someone to play for two sung Eucharist’s a month (setting Murray’s New People’s Mass), plus extra services like Holy Week and Carol Services by arrangement. Remuneration is according to RSCM recommended hourly rate, or by negotiation.

St Paul’s Cathedral
St Paul’s Cathedral have recently launched St Paul’s Institute, a think tank which seeks to foster an informed Christian response to the most urgent ethical and spiritual issues of our times: financial integrity, economic theory, and the meaning of the common good. It now has its own dedicated website www.stpaulsinstitue.org.uk
 
Walsgrave St Mary
The Parish of St Mary’s Walsgrave are holding a concert by the Salvation Army Coventry City Band on Saturday 18th September at 7.30pm. Tickets are £4.00, available at Church.
 
 
Ministry where you work
This invitation is open to all Readers, OLMs, NSMs and all licensed ministers in the Dioceses of Coventry and Leicester. The next planned Ministry Where you Work session is being held on Saturday 16th October 2010 from 10am to 3pm at Sutton Cheney Village Hall near Hinckley, Leicester. Tea and coffee will be available and a light lunch will be served, but a small contribution is asked to cover the cost of food and the venue. (You should ask if you can reclaim this as part of your CME).

Bourton on Dunsmsore
‘The St Peter’s Project’ is an ambitious community based plan to raise funds to restore and refurbish Bourton on Dunsmore’s ancient village church. On Saturday 11th September at 2pm the project launches its fundraising activities with ‘Picnic at the Hall’ in the beautiful grounds of Bourton Hall, Main Street, Bourton on Dunsmore Warwickshire CV23 9QZ
 
Come and enjoy live music, entertainment, attractions, refreshments and a chance to find out about the plans for the Church. The event is kindly supported by Practical Action and the Rotary Club of Southam 2000.

 ‘Joshua’ – George Frederick Handel
Ensemble 1685 are performing Handel’s ‘Joshua’ complete and on period instruments. There will be two performances of this work: on Friday 3rd September at Carrs Lane URC, Birmingham B4 7SX, and on Saturday 4th September at Warwick Road URG, Coventry CV1 1EX

 Directory Amendments
The Revd Canon David Robinson is retiring from Coventry St Mary Magdalen from the 1st September 2010. We wish him and his wife Diana every blessing in their retirement.
 
The Revd Dr Oliver Simon retires from the Rugby team from the 1st September. We wish every blessing in his retirement.
 
The Revd Dr David Stone is the new Precentor of Coventry Cathedral and will be Installed on Sunday 5th September at the 10.30am Cathedral service.
