Kenilworth St Nicholas
St Nicholas Church Kenilworth is holding a special healthcare service at 6.30pm on Sunday 18th October 2009. Invitations will be going out in September to all those who work in the NHS here or in neighbouring towns, as well as carers and the general public.
The hope is that the service will encourage us to give thanks for our health service and all carers and to ask for wisdom concerning any future cuts.
The speaker at the service will be The Reverend Dame Sarah Mullally, The Rector of Sutton in Surrey and formerly the Chief Nursing Officer.
Traditionally Chief Nursing Officers are near retirement and career civil servants. Sarah, by contrast, was nowhere near retirement and was from hospital life. It caused a stir but the professionals on the front line thought it was a great move. As CNO Sarah advised the Prime Minister, three Secretaries of State and numerous civil servants. She describes herself as being incredibly proud of the National Health Service and its many improvements.
St Nicholas Church invites you to put the date in your diary now.
