JUNE 2009

For Women – A Time to Relax – Lunchtime Meditations
Due to popular demand the Ladies Lunchtime Meditations at Coventry Cathedral are now taking place monthly on the first Thursday of each month from 12.45-2.00pm in the Lecture Hall. The next one is on 4th June 2009.   Do bring your friends (and your lunch!) and enjoy a cup of tea with others, then an hour of guided peace and relaxation with God. Free, friendly and informal, this is ideal for all women, whatever age or background. For more information contact Zoe Bell on 024 7652 1223.

On Fire Mission (Midlands) Warwick All Saints Day of Renewal
On Fire Mission is dedicated to spreading the renewal of the Holy Spirit in Christ’s Church. We are a firmly Bible-based organization, having a strong emphasis on scripture through the daily lectionaries and private Bible study; we are also strongly sacramental in our corporate worship.   Scripture-reading that is not enlivened by the Holy Spirit is mere words; sacraments, if they are not administered in the power and strength of the Holy Spirit are dead rituals. The release of the Spirit in our lives means receiving more of God’s power so that we can glorify his Name through our lives and further the work of his Kingdom through our ministry.

An annual national conference based on these principles has been thriving for over thirty years. Smaller regional conferences have sprung up as offshoots of the national body; this meeting is the first such venture in the Midlands and will be held on Saturday 27th June at Warwick All Saints, Emscote, from 10.15am to 4.30pm and doors open from 9.30am for coffee and welcome.

We look forward to welcoming Christians of all denominations and traditions. You will find lively worship - including both the sacrament of the Eucharist and informal praise and prayer - Bible-based teaching, and a wide range of “workshop” sessions; and prayer-ministry will be offered both in the context of the Eucharist and towards the end of the day.

A further similar day is planned for October 17th under the title “One in Christ”.
