I am very glad to announce that Canon Yvonne Richmond has been appointed Canon for Development at Birmingham Cathedral. She takes up her new position at the end of May.
Coventry Cathedral, and the Diocese as a whole, have benefitted enormously from Canon Richmond’s energy and vision. I know that she will have a great deal to give to Birmingham Diocese and its Cathedral as she takes up this strategic role, which is a paid post, at an important stage in the Cathedral’s life. I am glad, though, that she will remain closely associated with our Cathedral as a Canon Emeritus.
In the near future the Dean will be arranging a farewell event for Yvonne at which there will be a fuller opportunity to thank her for her contribution to our life in Coventry. In the meantime Yvonne will be completing and handing over various responsibilities.
May God bless Yvonne and her family, and Coventry and Birmingham Cathedrals in this time of transition.
