CHRISTMAS SERVICE FOR BEREAVED PARENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES

`Remember Our Child’, a group for parents who have lost a child at any age, are holding their annual Christmas Service in the Chapel of Unity at Coventry Cathedral on Tuesday 13th December at 6.00 pm. The loss of children is especially poignant at this time of year and this service welcomes not only parents but whole families the opportunity to reflect, remember and light candles for the one they have lost.
Bereaved parents are welcome to attend the Remember Our Child group which meets on the first Monday of each month in the Chapel of Unity at 5:45pm

THE WARWICKSHIRE COUNTY BOYS CHOIR

The Warwickshire County Boys Choir are giving a special Christmas concert at St. Nicolas Parish Church in Nuneaton on Thursday December 22nd at 7-30 p.m. Formed only in 2008 they are already a renowned and award-winning choir, appearing this year in the final of BBC T.V.'s "Choir of the Year". Led by the former Director of Warwickshire County Music Service, Garry Jones, they are a group of 40-60 eight to thirteen year old boys from over 40 different schools. Together they make glorious music, and this concert should be one of the highlights of North Warwickshire's musical year.

REMINDER: CHORAL CELEBRATION OF HOLY COMMUNION - THURSDAY 8TH DECEMBER 6.30 PM ST LEONARD'S CHURCH, RYTON-ON-DUNSMORE

Guest choir Musica Sacra, under their director Dr Gerard Hyland, will again be coming to St Leonard’s- this time on December 8th, the feast day of the Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The organist will be Adrian Moore, whose skill on the organ has delighted us on previous occasions, and the choir will be singing a Mass setting by Gruber (the composer of Silent Night), as well as leading the congregation in singing the hymns and responses etc. This service will be Anglo-Catholic in style, with a procession and incense. As on previous occasions, there will be wine (possibly mulled), cheese scones and other refreshments after the service. Do come and join us for the service and the party afterwards. REMINDER: ST OSWALD'S ADVICE CENTRE, TILE HILL, COVENTRY

St Oswald's Advice Centre meets every Friday between 9.30am and 12.00 noon, in the parish hall in Jardine Crescent, Coventry, to support people who are in difficulty by offering them free, impartial, and confidential advice on Welfare Rights, Benefits, Housing, Legal, Health, Local and National Services, enabling them to gain access to Legal, Local Authority, and National Government Services, including Welfare.
St Oswald's services are provided by volunteer advisors and also volunteer students from Warwick University and is currently the only provider of advice in this area of the city. We are a member of Advice UK.
We are looking to strengthen our staff levels with volunteers to provide this much needed requirement for the people of Tile Hill, and Coventry. If you are a qualified Advice Worker, a retired solicitor or lawyer, worked for a trade union or jobcentre or DHSS, or just keen to help others and wish to enhance our Centre by giving your time - one Friday morning a week - then please telephone Father Nicholas Leggett, Chairman of the Advice Centre on 07762-156380 for more details.
