Ordained Ministry
There are just two categories of Ordained ministry so far as the national selection process is concerned: that of priest and of deacon. However, the word 'focus' has been introduced to express the ways the national church has determined that ordained ministry may be expressed.
We set out below the focus of the different ministries which the church has authorised. Whatever the focus of ministry, there is one set of criteria which the basis of selection for is ordained ministry.
Since NSM refers only to financial support for ministry it is not itself a focus of ministry although it will continue to need to be used to distinguish those in parochial ministry or chaplaincy from those in the church's full time paid employment.
