CANON DIRECTOR FOR RECONCILIATION MINISTRY

In partnership with the Bishop and Diocese of Coventry, the Dean and Chapter seek to appoint a Canon Director for Reconciliation Ministry to direct and develop Coventry Cathedral’s internationally renowned work of reconciliation and help realise the Cathedral’s Vision to be a World Centre for Reconciliation.
This is a senior managerial appointment open to ordained and non-ordained candidates, offering an excellent opportunity for a person with significant expertise and skills with a heart for this key ministry.

We are seeking a leader who has vision and enthusiasm and will help us to grow as a “mission shaped” group of parishes, who can listen to the diverse needs of the congregation and village communities and is able to understand real life issues.

TEAM VICAR

In The Caludon Team Ministry

 

We are eager to appoint a clergy colleague to come and work with us in the Caludon Team in the east of Coventry in a new and pioneering phase of our mission and ministry (Pop 33,500 ER 400). We are keen to welcome someone who is:

  • At home with different CofE traditions and worship styles
  • Ready for ministry in a challenging, developing situation
  • Naturally collaborative
  • Keen to accompany others on their journey of faith
  • Eager for our churches to be key partners in building community

You will lead worship and offer ministry across the five churches of the parish and will have a defined leadership role in two districts of the Team.

TEAM RECTOR

In The Coventry East Team Ministry:
 
We want someone who:

  

  • will renew the church’s evangelistic heart – holding out a vision of what God can do
  • has a heart for people, is passionate about the gospel and is committed to social justice
  • is willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in
  • is happy to fly by the seat of their pants
  • has a good sense of humour and their feet planted firmly on the ground 
The Team Rector is based in Hillfields – a diverse, multi-cultural, multi-faith community that includes refugees, prostitutes and students. The church, like all the churches in the Team, is also a very busy community centre and is fully engaged in the life of the local community. One Team Vicar put it like this: “This is where the Lord would be. It’s the stuff of the Gospel.”
