Youth Work... The Mail Out 23rd Jul 2010 | Download | Email to a Friend

As I write this, I’m still reliving a fantastic week spent at Taize in France on the Bishop’s Youth Pilgrimage. We went out as two separate groups of very diverse people… but returned as one, with many of these young people having been changed forever by their experiences at Taize.
We all need the mountain top experiences that these camps offer – an opportunity to be amongst thousands of other Christian’s… singing our hearts out for Jesus! However, I’ve also come to believe that faith needs to be applied to everyday life, and so in truth we are probably more likely to grow through the tough times, moments when we are stretched - than we are at these camps – however good they may be.
So lets all help our young people to experience something of the awesomeness of God this summer but lets also remind them throughout it all that its life in the valley (back home) that really counts.

The following may be of some interest…

Best Wishes
Several Youth Workers will be leaving the diocese during the summer months, they include Dre and Josh from Holy Trinity Coventry, Claire Farley from St Marks Leamington Spa, James Gould (St Matthews Rugby) Rosie Adcock (Studley) and Steve Locke Weeton (Forest of Arden YFC). Thanks to you all for all your fantastic work – our prayers go with you.
