START THE WEEK IS NOW TAKING A SUMMER BREAK

As many of you will know by now, Ruth Wagstaffe, who has edited Start the Week for a number of years, is moving on from the Diocesan Offices to take up a new position at The Well Christian Healing Centre in Leamington Spa. Ruth has done an excellent job with Start the Week and we all owe her a debt of gratitude for the way in which she has faithfully produced it each week.

You may have also heard that Graeme Pringle, currently Vicar of St Christopher’s Allesley Park, has been appointed to a new post as Diocesan Projects and Communication Officer. He will take up this role in mid September.

Start the Week is now going to take a summer break and one of Graeme’s early tasks will be to revive it, possibly in a slightly different format. In the meantime, if there are any urgent matters to communicate with the Diocese, please would you be in touch with Liz Ford on 024 7652 1307 and by e-mail at Liz.Ford@CovCofE.org  and we will arrange for this to be communicated.

MESSAGE FROM MICHAEL PAGET-WILKES - FORMER ARCHDEACON OF COVENTRY DIOCESE

May I take this opportunity to thank members of the Diocese who contributed to my farewell present. It has taken some time to come but I have now received a painting of canal poles in Venice that I commissioned from Phyllis Davies, a painter who lived two doors up from us in Leamington.

It is a wonderful reminder to me of my time in the Diocese and hangs proudly in our studio room. The balance of your gift to me I have in turn given to Gillian in response to all she has done to support me over my 40 years of Ministry. Thank you all so much for all the support you gave me during my time in Rugby and South Warwickshire.
