The Coventry and Warwickshire Spirituality Group

The Spirituality Group exists to deepen the prayer life of individuals and communities. Its membership is inter-denominational and it works closely with Revd. Dr. Ruth Tuschling, Spirituality Advisor and Warden of Offa House.

The group provides a network of people committed to accompanying others in prayer, leading Quiet Days and Retreats, and teaching and training in Spirituality.  It supports a range of activities and events across Coventry and Warwickshire. If you need a leader for a Quiet Day please contact  Revd Dr Ruth Tuschling: 01926 423309 offahouse@btconnect.com

As well as initiating specific activities, members of the group are available to lead retreats and quiet days, to act as prayer guides, to engage in spiritual direction and to conduct courses on prayer and spirituality. Several are involved with Quiet Gardens, Julian and other Contemplative Prayer groups.

Recent events have included a Labyrinth Day at the Cathedral, a Mary Day at Offa House, and regular Individually Guided Retreats.  Ongoing is a monthly women’s meditation group at the Cathedral on the first Thursday of the month; Quiet Gardens in the Summer in local gardens and parks, and the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction or accompaniment is a ministry of listening in which both together seek to discern the guiding of the Holy Spirit in a person’s life and prayer. It is becoming increasingly popular and the supply of directors does not match the demand. We are looking forward eagerly to the first group in training being able to join the list of active directors in the diocese. Meanwhile, though your first port of call for spiritual guidance should hopefully remain your local clergy and wise laypeople, if you wish to enquire about being accompanied, please contact Revd Dr Ruth Tuschling at Offa House: 01926 423309 offahouse@btconnect.com

The Spirituality Group facilitates the Coventry Diocesan Training course in Spiritual Direction at Offa House.
For more information please contact Revd Dr Ruth Tuschling: 01926 423309 offahouse@btconnect.com

Diocesan Prayer

Father, pour out your Spirit upon us.
Grant us a new vision of your glory,
a new experience of your power,
a new faithfulness to your word
and a new consecration to your service,
that your love may grow among us
and your kingdom come:
through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen
