MEN ONLY
Nobby Clarke writes:
At St James, Fletchamstead we have started a Men's night once a month, which has been an excuse to just go for a drink without the ladies. Please publish our invitation to all men in Coventry to join us on Friday 9th May at the Sovereign Pub. This is an opportunity to show support and have a drink....or two. It's also an ideal and non threatening atmosphere for our non Christian friends. Finally, it may not be PC these days, but no women are allowed, it's a men's night where we talk about you, not to you!!!

LEAMINGTON PEACE FESTIVAL
Helpers are needed for some imaginative outreach at the Leamington Peace Festival on Sunday 15th June.
Revd. Christopher Wilson writes:
A celebration of the Christian mystical tradition planned as an outreach to people attracted to the Leamington Peace Festival. It will be called 'Peace of the Mystics Celebration' and will take place in All Saints Church. Participants already include Simon Small (contemplative prayer), Elizabeth Vooght (Desert Mothers & Fathers), Adrian Smith (meditations) and Chris McKenna (Marylebone healing centre). Other components will include a labyrinth, ministry of healing, creative activities, etc. We will set up immediately after the normal 8.00am Communion service, open at the same time as the Festival, and close with a slightly unusual Eucharist at 4.30pm.
We need open-minded, welcoming and mature Christian people to assist on the day: running the labyrinth; running creative workshops (creative writing, clay, etc); and assisting more generally. Yes, it's a Sunday, but that happens to be the outreach opportunity. Also, on both Saturday and Sunday, we need leafletters to advertise the event around the Pump Room gardens, which may involve engaging people in conversation.
For further information or to offer help (or even sponsorship!) please contact Christopher Wilson at holy.trinity@btopenworld.com or on 01926 424016. Thank you very much.

HOPE WHERE YOU LIVE
A new HOPE film will be available on 2nd May for use in your Bank Holiday, Pentecost & other HOPE events. The next Hope 'high point' starting around the May Bank Holiday weekend, "Hope Where You Live", is a great reminder to us to let our activities break out of our church buildings and to get onto the streets where we live.
To mark this, a new short film has been made for www.Hopeinfo.co.uk which is a snapshot of life on the streets, against the backdrop of the question: When? (as in Matthew 25…)
It will be available to download from the 2nd May, possibly earlier! Why not show it at whatever events you are planning? Why not buy or print materials or t-shirts with the web address on and point people to the film, one of seven? CPO have a wide range. Remember the www.Hopeinfo.co.uk site is a gateway for contact with the Christian Enquiry Agency that provides a range of free literature and services for those who want to know more about what we Christians believe - and what that means for our lives.

VOTE NOW
Vote for your favourite worst Christian LP cover of all time – lovingly rescued from second-hand retailers worldwide.
They once blessed Dansette record players worldwide with harmonies homemade in heaven. Indeed, the world has been a poorer place since we no longer heard from The Ministers' Quartet and Mike Crain, the Karatist Preacher. But now Mike, the Christian Crusaders (not forgetting Al Davis), and The King's Three (paradoxically a quartet) are among a clutch of once-headlining artists on the comeback trail, gaining a new and well-deserved reputation as purveyors of the most toe-curlingly embarrassing LP covers of all time... and who knows, e'en eternity. Lovingly rescued from a thousand musty charity shops, SHIP OF FOOLS proudly present 10 of the very best.

Have a great week!
With best wishes
